Extracellular Enzyme Patterns Provide New Insights Regarding Nitrogen Transformation Induced by Alkaline Amendment of Acidic Soil

چکیده

Nitrogen (N) availability is generally a limiting factor in highly acidic soil, which could be improved by amending these soils with alkaline materials. Soil extracellular enzyme activity (EEA) plays an important role N transformation; current knowledge gap how this occurs amended material. The present 45-day incubation experiment was designed to examine the effects of different amounts materials (urea and/or calcium–silicon–magnesium–potassium fertilizer (CSMP)) on transformation. results show that soil pH significantly increased after CSMP amendment (1.2 units) and net mineralization (Rmin), nitrification (Rnit) rates, ammonification (Ramo) rates. changed EEA but differing or opposing effects, e.g., Rnit positively correlated activities L-leucine aminopeptidase, β-xylosidase, α-glucosidase, N-acetyl-β-glucosaminidase negatively β-1, 4-glucosidase β-cellobiosidase. A machine learning analysis indicated best predictor for Rmin Ramo pH, Rnit, it nitrate. study improve our understanding control pH. Such lead more bespoke nutrient management planning at field scale, leading better agronomic environmental outcomes.

Extracellular Trapping of Soil Contaminants by Root Border Cells: New Insights into Plant Defense

Soil and water pollution by metals and other toxic chemicals is difficult to measure and control, and, as such, presents an ongoing global threat to sustainable agriculture and human health. Efforts to remove contaminants by plant-mediated pathways, or “phytoremediation”, though widely studied, have failed to yield consistent, predictable removal of biological and chemical contaminants. Emergin...

Improving Soil Physical Indicators by Soil Amendment to a Saline-Sodic Soil

The application of organic amendments can be an appropriate solution to reclaim and improve physical propertiesof saline-sodic soils. In this research, an experiment was performed under greenhouse conditions to study the effect ofamendments to the physical properties of loamy saline-sodic soil. The five treatments were control (withoutamendment), municipal solid waste compost (MC), vermicompost...

Optimization of Extracellular Alkaline Protease Enzyme from Bacillus Sp

Proteases are very important industrial enzymes, which contribute about 60% of the total world enzyme market. Among the various proteases, bacterial proteases are the most significant, compared with animal and fungal proteases (Rahman et al., 1994) and among bacteria, Bacillus sp are specific producers of extra-cellular proteases (Coolbear et al., 1992; Banerjee et al., 1999). These enzymes hav...
